Job description: Teach four Norwegian language classes per Academic Year and teach two additional high enrollment classes to meet departmental needs. The instructor will be responsible for teaching preparation, preparation of syllabi, adapting teaching material, holding office hours, student performance evaluations, full and regular participation in departmental pedagogical activities, regular meetings, and collaboration with department pedagogy specialist. Instructors are expected to stay abreast with current foreign language teaching and testing theories and methods.

Requirements: Candidates with a PhD or equivalent in Scandinavian Studies or related field in hand at the time of application preferred; PhD or equivalent in hand by the start of the appointment (August 23, 2021) required.

One year minimum of teaching experience at a college or university in the US or Canada required. Experience teaching Norwegian required. Native or near-native proficiency in Norwegian and English required. Experience in teaching a high enrollment class in Environmental Humanities, Folklore, or Ethnic Studies desired.
