The anthology Memory and Remembrance in Scandinavian Cultures (3 vols.) based on papers from the 2021 IASS conference is available ahead of print.


The international conference at the University of Copenhagen, in collaboration with Lund University, calls for papers on "Rethinking the rural North through environmental literature, film, and TV". Hand in proposals for presentations before 01-09-2023.


The Federation Internationale des Langues et Littératures Modernes (FILLM), in collaboration with the School of Languages, University of Ghana, invites proposals for individual papers and roundtable panels for its 29th Congress, which is themed Languages, Literatures, and Cultures: Repositioning the Past, Innovating the Present, to be held from 23rd to 25th October 2023 at University of Ghana, Legon. UiT – The Arctic University of Norway is hosting the 34th conference of the International Association for Scandinavian Studies.




Based on papers delivered at the 2018 IASS Conference in Copenhagen, this volume contains 24 articles on themes such as Nordic Identities, Nordic Dystopias, Nordic Postcolonialism, Scandinavian Places and Landscapes, Folkhem and Working-Class Fiction, and Translating Scandinavian Exceptionalisms.


The IASS 33rd Conference which was scheduled to take place in Vilnius in 2020 has been rescheduled because of the corona virus. It will now take place between Tuesday, August 3 and Friday, August 6 in 2021 instead.
