Announcing the 25th ATdS (Arbeitstagung der Skandinavistik) in Munich in September 2022.

A letter from Joachim Schiedermair on behalf of the Munich organizing team

Dear colleagues,

after difficult months of the pandemic, which have not been easy for collegial, academic and not least personal exchange, I am very pleased to host the next ATdS in Munich. Together with my colleagues at the Institut für Nordische Philologie, I cordially invite you to this opportunity to finally meet again and exchange ideas both professionally and personally.

In Munich, we face tough competition in the fall with the Oktoberfest and trade fair dates. For this reason, the ATdS will take place at the beginning of September. Please note and save the conference date 6-8 Sept 2022! The closing banquet will take place on Thursday evening, for Friday we will provide information for touristic and cultural offers in Munich and the surrounding area.

Working groups

Until Dec 1st 2021 we ask for working group proposals to atds2022@lrz.uni-muenchen.de with the following information: names and email addresses of the “Arbeitskreis” leaders and an abstract. For room and time planning, the expected number of participants and presentations would help us a lot.

In the past, working group topics have proven to be particularly successful if they are characterized by a high degree of connectivity to the sub-disciplines of Scandinavian studies and across disciplinary boundaries. Proposals for working groups in the context of current research projects are also very welcome. We reserve the right to review incoming proposals and to make a selection.

Project presentations and poster session

We especially invite PhD students to present their projects, either in shorter project presentations or as posters. It would be very appreciated if supervisors would point out these opportunities to their PhD candidates.

Homepage

At the moment the conference homepage is under construction. As soon as it is online, we are going to inform you about it in the next newsletter and on our homepage (www.nordistik.uni-muenchen.de). There you will find continuously updated information about the registration process, accommodation, program etc.
